On March 3 2017, reporters from China Report ASEAN, together with journalists from Myanmar mainstream media, paid a visit to the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

Tang Ruimin introduced the CPAFFC’s history in her welcome speech: “The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) is one of the earliest national people’s organizations engaged in the people-to-people diplomacy of China. With the purposes of enhancing people’s friendship, furthering international cooperation, safeguarding world peace and promoting common development on behalf of the Chinese people, the CPAFFC makes friends with foreign countries widely and closely on the international arena.”

The CPAFFC has co-organized numerous activities with many organizations in China and Myanmar in order to enhance the China-Myanmar relationship. The China-Myanmar friendship owes much to organizations like the CPAFFC. However, the relationship has its own decades-long history.

Han Win Aung, head of the Myanmar journalist group, showed his respect towards CPAFFC’s efforts in enhancing the Myanmar-China friendship. “Everyone in the group would like to contribute to the friendship between the two countries in the future,” Han said.
